EPUNTO Interim Management attended the event on May 16th. Global Innovation Day, the major event for Basque innovationAn annual event organized by Innobasque that aimed to take us on a journey through innovation via a day full of experiences. An opportunity for learning and networking unique in an open, dynamic and participatory environment.
Back in 2016, Global Innovation Day brought together more than 2.000 people who enjoyed 57 Basque social clubs (txocos), 27 workshops, and 22 presentations. In its 2017 edition, Innobasque exceeded expectations and, to mark its 10th anniversary, incorporated new activities: the Txoco Tours and the Innovation Route, two experiences that combined theory and practice to inspire and connect innovative people. Furthermore, Innobasque brought to the Basque Country the 1st Bilbao Urban Aquatic Golf Championship!
Zacchaeus AzconaThe managing partner of the Northern Region of EPUNTO Interim Management came to learn about the experience firsthand. Thus, we attended the panels "In the Seas of Innovation" and "Back to the Future." In the first, we heard from Xavier Ferrás about Exponential technologies and innovative ecosystems, a Miguel Encabo on the interesting Orona ideo city: sustainability, innovation and commitment to people and the environment. Next we listened to Rebecca Birmingham and his interesting presentation regarding New lab: promoting optimistic technology. Lastly, Enrique Ramírez told us about Crowd Engineering, a different way to achieve tangible results in innovation y Aline Clavellina proposed answers to the question: How to resolve the generational divide to accelerate innovation in companies?
In the "Back to the Future" panel, Paco Bree covered the topic Innovate or tend to disappear, Joshue Perez he reflected on the Challenges of automated driving: the situation 10 years ago, and some achievements in the Basque Country. Later Adriana Rojas he presented the topic Neurodegeneration and intracellular recycling plants, then Carlos Uraga spoke about local and international entrepreneurship in his talk Starting a business from the Basque Country: the importance of internationalization. Finally, Nuria Conde told us about her experience as Biologist by day, biohacker by night y Manuel Dominguez Churruca concluded with There is only a future if there are people.
In short, very interesting talks that we recommend and provide in the following videos.
