Emilio del Prado and Patricio Gil discuss Interim Management and Human Resources on Capital Radio
Happiness and emotions are important in organizations. Simply because we are human, and this is reflected in data such as the fact that happiness at work improves health by 20% and that a committed person achieves 200% better results than one who is not.
In this context, Francisco asked Emilio and Patricio how all of this fits into Interim Management and how the Interim Manager fits into organizations. This was their response:
Emilio del Prado: "Interim Management as a Multiplicative Force"
"Interim Management in Spain is progressing well, lagging slightly behind the rest of Europe, but becoming increasingly established due to its enormous advantages. Although it may sound cliché, management is a state of mind. And anything that negatively impacts that state of mind affects the entire organization negatively. Similarly, anything that has a positive impact, adding optimism and enthusiasm, has a multiplier effect."
Being an interim manager means being even more demanding: it requires leadership in aspects such as commitment and passion; which must be very present because in the end, otherwise the results, in a very short and predetermined time, cannot be imposed, they are achieved with that enthusiasm and happiness that is transferred to the entire organization.
For example, let's talk about a manager who holds a permanent position. As such, they have certain problems associated with inertia, routine, and a negative situation based on remaining in the same role. Thanks to Interim Management, this can be changed and reversed, inverted, by injecting all the passion and flexibility that the high demands of Interim Management allow, integrating into the organization only for the time necessary to achieve the objectives.
Patricio Gil Olmedo: "Interim Management as an unbeatable opportunity to leverage senior talent in the labor market"
“Many men and women have been left out of the job market but have extensive experience and can therefore provide a service. For this reason, we must consider the possibility of utilizing all those senior professionals currently available who have, for example, 20 years of experience, which we as a society and as companies cannot afford to waste. Interim Management is a way for companies to gain flexibility and access to these senior professionals.”
